Jung H. Hyun
Originally born in Korea, June Hyun came to the United States to pursue a master’s degree in school counseling at California State University, Bakersfield. June Hyun comes to Seattle Pacific after completing a doctorate in Counselor Education at Georgia State University, Atlanta, Georgia.
Dr. Hyun teaches several courses in the school counseling program at Seattle Pacific University including multicultural counseling in K–12, resiliency/at risk students assessment and intervention, practicum, and internship, and volunteers at a local School. Interested in the underserved populations in schools, She did presentations on undocumented students and transgendered youth in the Washington School Counseling Association conferences. Dr. Hyun’s current research focuses on multicultural issues in school counseling, the integration of play therapy techniques in the school setting, school counselor supervision, and bolstering resiliency.
